The Roots for Parents course helps parents understand the root causes behind their child’s behaviour, emotional responses, sensory needs, and regulation difficulties. Using a sensory-developmental approach, the course explores how the nervous system and sensory processing impact everyday life, including attention, movement, emotions, sleep, food, meltdowns, transitions, and participation at home and school. Parents will learn: • How sensory processing affects behaviour and regulation • Signs of dysregulation and survival states • Why children may seek or avoid certain sensory input • Practical sensory strategies to support calmer, more regulated days • How to create proactive sensory routines at home The course aims to help parents move from simply managing behaviours to understanding what their child’s body and nervous system may be communicating, while providing practical strategies that can be embedded into everyday family life.
